Bio

My name is Liz Leibiger, and I use they/them pronouns. My students call me Mx. L. I earned a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Philosophy. After my undergraduate degree, I went on to get my CELTA Certification through Cambridge English to teach adults English as a foreign language to pursue my passion for teaching English to multilingual learners. I continued to pursue this passion by years of private tutoring and working at LearningWorks at Portland's Reiche Elementary School. I am currently working on my Master's of Science in Education.

I strongly believe that to be a better teacher and create a better world for my students, I need to speak out against homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, and other injustices and empower my students to do the same. My personal motto, when I feel my courage begin to falter in speaking up, is "If not now, then when? If not me, then who?"
